REDICO plays significant role in premier ICSC event.

One of the largest trade organizations in the world, the Innovating Commerce Serving Communities (ICSC), held their Michigan chapter’s premier event on April 18, 2024, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The annual ICSC + Continuing Education Michigan drew over 450 people to the popular day-long event.

A member organization, the ICSC is dedicated to the advancement of the Marketplaces Industry; places where people shop, dine, work, play and gather. Members enjoy access to proprietary industry research, development and certification, and networking events. Active in the organization for over 25 years, REDICO’s Director of Retail Operations, Sean Valentino, regularly gets invited to participate in panels and committees. His dedication helps give REDICO’s presence in the industry, builds relationships and helps maintain our retail network.

As Roundtable Co-chair of the Continuing Education event, Sean’s work began almost one year prior. He and fellow member volunteers met regularly between August and April to organize the roundtables, create panel sessions and get speakers onboard. This year there were 23 roundtables, two keynote speakers and nine panel sessions with topics such as emerging trends, legal issues, financing strategies and developments in the retail real estate market.

REDICO’s Andrew Dunlap, SVP of Acquisitions and Investments, has taken part in several ICSC panels. At the April event, he spoke on “Mastering the Art of Mixed-Use Developments.” Joining him on the panel were Luke Bonner, Terry Croad, Ryan Talbot, and session moderator, Nick Maloof. Andrew focused on REDICO’s larger development sites known as horizontal mixed-use. These refer to each building having its various designated use within a complex.

All the hard work pays off for everyone, as event participants receive eight hours (six elective, two legal) of Continuing Education Real Estate Credits in Michigan. This event allows participants one stop to get it all done in one day.

About ICSC: Formerly known as the International Council of Shopping Centers, the 65-year-old brand has broadened its focus to be more representative of its members as builders of commerce, communities and culture. Join or extend membership at ICSC.com.
